Dr. Mukesh Prasad is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and IT at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He has made significant contributions to the fields of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Natural Language Processing. His research interests also span several emerging areas, including Big Data, Computer Vision, Brain-Computer Interfaces, Evolutionary Computation, and the Internet of Things (IoT). These technologies are shaping next-generation applications across diverse sectors such as healthcare, biomedical science, agriculture, smart cities, education, marketing, and finance. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed research papers in leading journals and conferences, including publications in high-impact venues such as IEEE, ACM Transactions, Springer Nature and Elsevier. His academic achievements are complemented by strong industry experience. He served as Principal Engineer at TSMC Semiconductor Manufacturing Company from 2016–2017, where he developed advanced image processing and pattern recognition algorithms using machine learning. He was a postdoctoral researcher leading a Big Data and computer vision team at National Chiao Tung University (2015). He holds an M.S. in Computer and Systems Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2009), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from National Chiao Tung University (2015).
